Touch, Face or Password - Which Is More Secure?

The Smartphone can be seen in every hand and one can store all of his personal data in it. When you talk about personal data, you talk about security and privacy. Maybe your smartphone will be snatched or you will forget it in a restaurant. Security is a big concern to everybody. There are many security locks to maintain your privacy for your smartphones like Face ID, Touch ID, Pin codes or location detections. Here we discuss which lock is better so you keep strangers to get hands on your personal info.

Password

We use lots of passwords in our digital life. Mostly, our privacy is based on passwords. We use them to unlock our mobile daily. We also use them in Facebook, Gmail, Microsoft, and Twitter, even in our bank accounts or credit cards. This type of authentication is not secure because a stranger can see your password or PIN and these also can be decoded easily.

Touch ID

Touch ID also called biometric authentication.  There is a sensor in the home button or at the back of the mobile called capacitive touch to detect the fingerprint of human finger or thumb. It has a stainless steel detection ring so there is no need to touch the button. It is more secure than the password. Because everyone has a unique fingerprint and this identification works whether your hands are oily or wet.

Face ID

Face ID is a facial recognition, firstly introduced in 2005 called “OKAO Vision Face Recognition Sensor” by OMRON Corporation. It has been made more and more precise by time. Recently, Apple Inc. introduced it in their latest product iPhone X. The smartphone creates a 3D map of a face and stores it. iPhone claimed that the probability of unlocking a phone by someone else is 1 in 1,000,000. Because it creates a precise 3D facial image by projecting 30,000 infrared dots on the face. But this technique is not considered accurate because it still needs enough updates and modification.
